What my mornings look like at three weeks postpartum. A few things I’ve done differently as a second time mom:
1) My husband does the 4:30am feed, so I sleep from 1:30am-7:00am. Doing shifts and getting longer stretches of sleep at the beginning has helped a ton with healing and me being a better mom.
2) Spending 30 minutes with my toddler in the morning before waking up the baby has been a great way to connect with her and have some “just us” time, creating a sense of normalcy for both of us.
3) Listening to my body and investing in products that make life better. This time I’ve been obsessed with everything @wearelelolo - from using their nipple shields for my first feed when by boobs are more full, to their amazing breast massager, to their silver cups and breast pads. Game changer for my postpartum care. Also all their products are so pretty! It’s details like this that matter.
4) Weaving in me time and mental breaks from “momming” full time. This has helped me immensely break the feeling of groundhogs day and remind myself moms need to prioritize themselves also.
It’s not perfect, but all the little things add up. And don’t worry I still heat up my coffee numerous times and sometimes forget and leave it in the microwave. 🫠
What are some of the things you did as a new mom that helped you? 💕
