Foilayage & Gray Coverage - Who HATES tinting between foils 🙋🏼‍♀️ Why Not Just Cover the Gray after the Highlights have been Shampooed Off during the same step as Shadow Rooting and Toning by using PERMANENT color to ColorMelt 🤔 I know what you’re going to Say: “But Ashlee, doesn’t Toning with Permanent color just create too much exposure of warmth in the Natural Base &/or leave a dark ban that need to be lifted out later !?!” Hear me out- What would happen if you mixed in Tone Softener into your Formulas? What’s that 🤨 You Ask? It’s like a conditioner with a 4.5 PH and it does 2 things 🤓 1. Drops the PH of the Permanent color so you get a softer lift, less exposure of warmth 2. Makes the deposit of the color more Translucent so you get dimensional coverage over grays and highlights and prevents an opaque line of demarcation In the case on my Live Model at my recent #DiamondPaintBalayage♦️ class - Her hair was a Coarse, Natural Level 4 with 25% White/Gray Hair, and tinted level 4 Mids-Ends. After lightening with @oligopro Lightener, I used @schwarzkopfusa TBH to ColorMelt ColorMelt Formulas: Root- 5/06 & 6/16 Mids (Hairline Shadow)- 7/06 & 8/19 Ends - 10/19 & 8/69 all mixed 1:1:1 20vol and Tone Softener I know, I know - “But, she has tinted ends and Color can’t lift Color” This is true - But it can “Affect” it, it can’t destroy the artificial pigment molecule but maybe it pushes some out of the cuticle.
