Never let texture be something that defines you. It was never something that I had considered would be difficult to experience. I knew acne was hard before I broke out because I had seen so many people struggle with getting to grips with it, and because the media constantly told me that imperfect skin was wrong. So when I developed texture, I couldn’t handle it at first. I felt ridiculously self conscious and I just wanted to hide my face from everyone. It took time to realise there was nothing wrong with me, and the shit that the media fed us about needing perfect skin to be normal was just that - shit. So never let texture be something that defines you, because it has always been, and will always be, normal.
