AN EXTRA TERRESTRIAL HAS LANDED ON FIRE ISLAND...AND SHE’s HEADED STRAIGHT TO THE BOWFLE 🛸👽💪🏝️ Still reeling from the absolute magic that was Pines Party. A yearly tradition that dates back to what was originally the Beach Party, back to 1979, where proceeds went to the Gay Men’s Health Crisis; the only foundation that raised money to fight AIDS, which was then ignored by our government. The only community that had any interest in saving our fellow gays was our own. Decades later the party and message rings true, and being able to call this my 7th Pines Party to attend is an honor like none other. This year’s theme was “Galactic Rodeo.” I get to attend with some of my Best Friends and one of my favorite things to do is introduce the event to new people who have never attended, anyone I bring always says it is a tradition they will be a part of for the rest of their lives. The team at @pinesparty spearheaded by @freeradicaldesigngroup build an entire stage with the highest production level from scratch on the beach of Fire Island Pines. The night climaxes at 6am, when the sun rises. The entire goal of each year is to make it until the morning and dance together in unity with the sun high in the air, celebrating that we as a family made it to a new day, and carry on the torch from our Fire Island ancestors who came before us. This years morning finale was extra beautiful, with a piano rendition of “The Winner Takes it All” by my good friend and extra talented @pianomicah 💖 It is moments like this weekend when I am reminded how blessed I am to be incarnated on this world during this time with so many beautiful people. Please if you haven’t attended, go next year. You will thank me forever and won’t be able to stop returning for as long as possible!!!
