One day at a time - 17 years sober today. Humbled & grateful to be alive. I dream big & I reach for those dreams as a result of giving myself the opportunity to get the help I needed desperately. I was not born clean since my parents struggled with Intervenous drug use even while pregnant. I was a part of the system, briefly before my grandparents Stepped in and took over from that point on. My dad never got sober and unfortunately died shortly after at age 28. The disease of addiction is very real. Unfortunately I had to go through much pain before I became willing to change, that turning point is a moment I will never forget. Getting sober gave me safe haven, community and a guide to life. I am beyond thankful to everyone who held space for me in those moments where I was learning to just be in my body.
