Truly though - zero shade to my friends who are great attorneys AND great at social media, but as a trademark attorney who loves the work and does NOT necessarily love or want to spend a lot of time and energy on social media, this @betches convo btw @sami and @jordanaabraham nailed it for me. I appreciate that social is a way for me to educate and connect with people I might otherwise never interact with, but I will never sacrifice time or energy spent on the actual work I do for my clients in favor of showing up on social, and it was so refreshing to hear two women I respect immensely perfectly articulate the flawed logic of finding and assessing service providers this way. I love the work I do and I love being the one to do it and being able to stand behind the quality of it. Frankly, it's been an obstacle that has hindered my ability to scale the way other women in my industry that I respect and admire have. But I've spent over a decade building my expertise and I am not willing to hand the substantive work off to others so that I can have a larger presence on social.
