The “Double Wedding Ring” pattern was one of the most popular designs of the quilt revival period in the early 20th century, and many variations were published by pattern companies and invented by talented quiltmakers. While the typical quilt of this era featured pastel colors and lightweight cottons, the rich colors and variety of fabrics included in this piece makes it a particularly striking example. Artist unidentified, Probably Georgia, United States, c. 1930–1940.
