This is Elizabeth. Say hello! She likes tangerines, collects shells in her free time, and this is her trying to impersonate Marilyn Monroe. In all seriousness, this photograph is part of a new series exploring identity, death, and societal conformity through the combination of skeletal anatomy and human life. Elizabeth is trying to be human… but she isn’t. And in capturing this moment, I found myself wondering whether we truly are human, or if we’re simply performing humanity in the same way she is.
