Gail Mabo ‘Tagai’, 2021 Tagai is the name of the constellation used to navigate between islands in the Torres Strait. Those who visited the islands would be gifted with a bamboo map, made up of string and shells tied together displaying the lines of currents. In ‘Tagai’ Gail Mabo immortalises the bamboo map in bronze.
