8 years ago today i lost my mom. as more time passes, i find myself understanding less about grief and mourning. i thought it was supposed to get easier as time went on... it’s quite the opposite. but also as each year passes, i can begin to see all the wonderful ways i am exactly like my mother. where i get my sense of humor, craftiness, and love of animals from. i think of her every time i break out the pack of Sharpies to decorate something - or how adopting a pet rat from a rat rescue was totally something she would have done 🐀😂 we didn’t get nearly enough time together, and i have to believe she’s watching over me somehow. TL;DR - if you can, hug your mom today ❤️
