Don't miss the STELLAR spectacle happening tonight and tomorrow night. The Perseid meteor shower is here!
The Perseids appear every year, in mid-August, as Earth passes through the cloud of debris left by the ancient comet Swift-Tuttle.
Normally, up to 100 meteors per hour can be viewed during this shower, but visible meteor rates will be down to possibly 15-20 per hour, due to the brightness of a nearly-full moon. Nevertheless, it's still a sight worth seeing!
Dry Tortugas National Park is an excellent place to view the wonders of the night sky. Where do you plan to watch this magical event?
