One of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on recently was creating the landscaping—both interior and exterior—for the award-winning restaurant Red O. With a world-class culinary menu by MasterChef Rick Bayless and interiors inspired by Tulum from designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, I was brought in to formulate the lush, layered plantings that complete the experience.
Inside, we curated a collection of interior trees and greenery, blending them with antique pots I sourced from around the globe. For the exterior patio, I designed an array of tropical plants with bold texture and foliage to transport guests straight to the Riviera Maya. To honor Mexican culture, I incorporated vintage terracotta pieces along with custom-made vessels created specifically for the project.
The result is a vibrant, immersive environment that pairs beautifully with the restaurant’s award-winning cuisine. Red O is now the hotspot of Westlake Village—come for the lush plantings, stay for the incredible food.
