For the past few weeks @catuccino and I have been working to create a lesson on modest clothing ahead of the Jewish high holidays and my wedding. I wanted to create an intersectional, interfaith, and nuanced lesson about different faith traditions and modesty. Rivky and I are even wearing pieces from @impact.fashion.nyc’s collection. On September 16, 2022, #MahsaAmini was killed by uniformed modesty police for “not being modest enough.” In order to meet the moment, Rivky, Cat and I came together to rewrite our lesson. Our goal here is help you understand the role of modesty in the lives of those of us who have the opportunity to choose, while also standing in solidarity with those of us who do not. #JusticeForMahsaAmini and all those who are denied their basic human right to #bodilyautonomy."
