After months and months of back and forth to get this pitch approved by IAATO, the day finally came to set a record for the fastest pitch on the continent of Antarctica. With a Max of 5 throws for myself, (including warm up throws) and 2 throws for @sims_42 , we were able to log an 86mph and a 44mph fastball. Now you’re all probably saying 86?! Given the terrain, weather, and minimal amount of throws, I was shooting for something around 80-85 mph. I know there’s more in the tank but this pitch was not about hitting a high speed. It was about raising awareness for @cafoundation . A foundation that raises millions of dollars to provide athletes in need, with prosthetics, wheelchairs, and whatever else they may need to continue to pursue their dreams as an athlete. I absolutely love what this foundation stands for and am honored to be representing them! I’d also like to thank the @albatrosexpeditions team for allowing us to carry out this idea on their expedition, and @neilldrake for bringing this collection of people together and making sure everything ran smoothly and all guidelines were followed for this event!
