Join us for a two day jewellery making workshop with Syann van Niftrik (@syannvanniftrik) ✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Syann van Niftrik is a studio jeweller based in The New Forest, who creates small-batch jewellery collections with an experimental slant. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This workshop explores the ancient Cretan (loop-in-loop) chain and a standard flat-link chain, looking at how they can be adapted for different uses. There will be an introduction to the tools and materials involved in making the chains, as well as an explanation, demonstration and chance to practise the techniques involved – annealing, forming, soldering, pickling, shaping, linking, finishing and polishing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You will make two or three sample lengths of different chains before choosing one to make your own bracelet or necklace.
