Happy Birthday to my dear friend, Ben Gibbard 🧡 In 2003 I reached out to his team and the band, suggesting I document Death Cab For Cutie. Something spectacular was happening and I wanted to make sure it wasn’t forgotten, visually. We met at the tail end of their #transatlantasism tour to feel each other out. Truthfully, we were instant friends. I was a single mom and he loved my baby bat @arrowdewilde too, which meant the world to me. I didn’t have to pretend I wasn’t a mother to be a rock photographer in his eyes. From 2003 - 2008 I was on their tail with my cameras and film strapped around me. Ben has been a true friend, a life saver and one of my favorite people to laugh with ever since.
