This was 28!!! Posting this weekssss after turning 29 cos it was nearly impossible to narrow down a whole year’s worth of memories into just 20 photos/videos. 🥹 28 was a *pivotal* year for me - arguably the best year ever. 1. Married my best friend of 11 years (just a few months away from 12 as I type this)!! 2. I said YES more!!! 3. But I also started saying no more often, too. As a chronic people pleaser, this was a huge accomplishment for me. 4. Pushed myself out of my comfort zone in more ways than I could have ever imagined (circling back to saying yes more to things that made me uncomfortable!!) 5. I vowed to become more educated in social welfare, global events, and the current political climate. And that I did!! Could not recommend Bernie Sanders’ “It’s Okay To Be Angry About Capitalism” enough. AND Michelle’s Obama’s memoir, “Becoming”. Totally shifted my mindset on society as a whole. 6. Chose my mental health over $$$ > I completely stopped taking on contracting work on top of my f/t cos it was becoming detrimental to my life. It truly was the best decision I’ve ever made. I went as far as to delete my email to stop myself from the temptation of greed (no regrets!!!). 7. I worked so hard to reach my weight goal just in time for my wedding - a *semi* unrealistic number I set for myself, yet proudly achieved (for a moment I really thought it would be impossible). I lost a total of 48 lbs!! Hard work + determination is a hell of a drug. 8. Got to travel with my family a lot more than usual this year - which I’ll never take for granted. Especially as we get older, and our schedules get busier. Time is precious, remind yourself of this privilege. 10. Got to witness my mum and her only brother spend the summer together for the first time in history. It was sweet and so meaningful. 11. Most importantly, Brandon and I are still best friends - taking on the world as partners. If you marry your best friend, the rest will follow. It should always be you and your partner against the world. 🤞
