Spike worked for Tioga as a mechanic in the 90’s, traveling to the NORBA rounds and some World Cups. He came to Fujiten yesterday and won “Best Retro” award in the Show & Shine with this mean rig. People don’t really show off here, so the Show & Shine took some explaining but the enthusiasm is always high and everyone voted for each other to award Most Unique, Best In Show and of course, Most Retro. There’s a lot to say about how awesome the Japanese riding scene is and being immersed in the culture a little bit inspires you to be better. To be more respectful, act with more intention and be a thoughtful host. I don’t think anyone is as good at being hosts than the Japanese. 🙌🏼 Off to Tokyo for a few days before we head home.
