Today in Anti-Matter: This is the official “final week” for what has been an incredible eighteen months of Anti-Matter. I could not have predicted in 1993, when I was only nineteen years old, that the voice I was trying to develop back then would be—or even could be—relevant enough to thrive in a 21st century version of the hardcore scene. I certainly could never have predicted that I would still be playing in a band and publishing a fanzine at the age of 50. But these things came to pass, and in spite of the indefinite hiatus that will follow this week, I will always consider this phase of the greater Anti-Matter project to have been an enormous success. Today I look back on this iteration with love, acknowledging that we did, in fact, do something really special here. And since we are officially in the holiday season, I’ve decided to open the archives for everyone until the new year. Consider it my gift to you! ALSO: Many of you have asked, so I will be doing a small farewell merch drop that will go live this week—maybe as soon as tomorrow. (It has taken a minute to set up, but I’m almost there!) Check this space. Lastly, I reveal the “final” missive: I have invited back one of my most popular conversation partners, Ned Russin from @glitterererer and @titlefightfanclub, to join me for a 2024 Year-in-Review special—where both of us unveil our top three hardcore songs of the year, alongside so much more. As always, the complete conversation is coming on Thursday. Head over to antimatter.substack.com and don’t miss a thing. Thank you, friends ✨ 📸: Glitterer at Lager House. Detroit, MI. July 19, 2023.
