Remembering ANN's wildfire run of at the Kenney Center~ we had this dazzling visitor backstage! She thrilled all of us with her approval and delight. Washington was our last stop before Broadway (after Galveston, San Antonio, Austin, and Chicago.) ANN was a joyful experience in Washington, and non-partisan, for a change, in that city! Governor Richards brought out the best in people, crowds, audiences, and one-on-one. Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton had real friendships with her since earliest days. When ANN played Lincoln Center, the following season, Hillary would bring Bill along with her to see it again... What more imprimatur could the play get!
