So first of all, major shout out to my fraternity @kapsi1911 for creating our “Room to Read” initiative and a major shout out to my home chapter @hattiesburgnupes for picking up the charge and allowing me to be apart of this amazing endeavor that was RIGHT up my alley! 😃 I remember hanging out with my mom somewhere and somebody was asking me what I’ll do after I stop teaching and she said what do you mean? He’ll do what he’s always done. Reading and sharing his passion for it with his community didn’t begin with him teaching and it won’t end there. This is who he is... When I got up there the teachers were like do you think they’ll be able to hear you? I said that’s cute. Just watch. I’m a professional. 😂 After I got done elaborating on the greatest fraternity known to God and man, I let the babies know how much the library meant to me growing up and how I LOVED winning accelerated reader every year, which led me to be able to do so many things that I wouldn’t have been able to achieve without it. My journey with reading and understanding how stories make real world connections specifically to babies specifically from my community allowed me to be able to utilize Messy Bess to make an attempt to do the hips from tik tok, talk about the current mythical Jordan 1 lost and founds (which I STILL HAVEN’T GOT 😭), and pizzaaaaaa!!! Then go finish it off by seeing one of the students I used to interact with often doing the work in my stead? Priceless. Yesterday was completely priceless.
