This impressive needlework picture was embroidered by a nine-year-old girl in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The artwork was made during the early part of the 19th century, and features a three-story federal mansion in an idyllic scene set across a wide stream. The mansion’s front garden is filled with beautiful flowering vines, while people and animals roam throughout the colorful landscape.
