10 year old me would've loved to see a moment like this on TV. This was my first live TV performance, first award show, and the biggest audience I've ever been in front of - and I got to use my moment to represent my culture, and share it with a friend at the same damn time. Huge shoutout to my guy @simuliu for not only rocking our duet performance but also for taking the time to learn (and absolutely smash) those bhangra moves! Thank you for believing in the vision brother! Thank you to @adaywithdivya for choreographing this insane performance and thank you to the dancers for bringing the energy. With my new single finally dropping next month I was just about ready to move on from Jalebi Baby, but I guess it was only right to bring it back for one last big moment 😅 Thank you to the JUNO Awards for allowing me to perform a primarily Punjabi-language song on Canada's biggest music night AND for letting me bring bollywood and bhangra dancing to the Junos stage! So many incredible south asians artists come out of Canada and I can't wait to see more of us take these mainstream stages.
