Slime Molds are not fungi, they are tricky to classify but are considered to be Protista (like an Ameoba). True slime molds like Insect Egg Slime Mold (Leocarpus fragilis) crawl around as one giant living pulsing cell called plasmodium consuming all organic matter in its way. It is continually navigating the maze of the forest floor, seeking out food and eventually climbing up objects so it’s spores will be dispersed further by the mature sporangia. I would not recommend eating this. . For my setup I like to use a little clip on ring light, a clip on macro lens, and an extra phone. I use timelapse mode and try to leave it alone for as long as I can, it takes about 20m to see some movement, but longer is better. Hope you enjoy! .
