Some stills from beautiful project directed by @mayerkatja with @oh.francoise and @meekee_s @ryonarushima @maliabarnes_ Final film should be out soon When working out the look for this shoot Katja and I wanted to create a modern and surreal take on Johannes Vermeer/ Rembrandt single source soft light. Weaving in modern elements to create the haunting, dreamlike feeling of the final piece. To achieve this technically, I adapted a teleprompter to have the ability to bounce light from the direction of the lens onto reflective body paint straight back down the barrel. This gave me the ability to balance the ratios of mixed lighting whilst having no shadow or 'on camera flash' feeling. @oh.francoise 's movement fitted the mood Katja and I were trying to capture so perfectly, it was a real pleasure to film. #dop#directorofphotography#cinematographer#colourgrade#moodygrams#fashion#fashionfilm#analogue
