💚✨ 13 years ago I went to Florence on a trip that would change my life. I was lucky to study Art History and Italian at NYU, so the particular program and campus there was a dream. After my first few years of living in NYC going to class and interning (yes, I was nuts and interned my first semester freshman year and every semester after that), going to Florence was a welcomed change of pace. It was a beautiful, relatively tiny town that felt more like a college campus than I was used to. Of my 7 roommates, only one was from NYU, so it was fun to be around new energies with different perspectives.
In Florence, I was finally taking time to just be and enjoy all the beauty around me. During that semester I met some life-long friends, and it was also where I first started a daily journaling practice and found myself. In those pages of my purple, velvet-covered journal I picked up at John Derian on 2nd Street before leaving the East Village for the fall, I poured out the truth in those pages. The truth of who I was and where I dreamed of going. From career dreams to life-partnership dreams, it’s all in that notebook. So much of my life came to be after that semester and graduation the following year. Shortly after I met @alexhurst and started working at a dream first job. I love going back to that journal to see where I was and what would become 13 years later.
I’m very grateful for that time in my life, and to return to this city with the love of my life and a clear life passion for what I’m building is so surreal.
