Did you hear the news? The numbers are in, and they show our Queens compost program was a resounding success! During the first season last fall, @nycsanitation teams collected more than 12.7 million pounds of organic waste. And in November alone, Queens diverted nearly 3.5 million pounds of organics in just two weeks. That was during peak leaf collection season. All this shows that our efforts worked and that an easy, universal program works!
