Inspiring Children Foundation alumni Ashley Newell was recently recognized and awarded the Empowerment Award at the Title IX Awards presented by Las Vegas Aces. Ashley received the award inside the Raiders Stadium with the teams owner Mark Davis Jr., thanks to WNBA Vegas Aces leadership. The award was presented by Raiders All Star Tight End and Inspiring Children Foundation supporter Darren Waller. Billie Jean King and Former Mayor Jan Jones and the Woman’s Olympic team were also honored. There to celebrate Ashley, fellow alumni and husband Frideric Prandecki, as well as her father Ric, mother Bridget, and all three of her sisters, whom earned college scholarships through our program. The award highlights Ashley’s extraordinary story of using academics and athletics to earn a college scholarship. Soon after, a scholarship to med school and now being a doctor. This awards ceremony highlights and celebrates the power of Title IX, created in part by Billie Jean King. The Las Vegas Aces professional basketball team and the Raiders have taken a strong position to support and highlight the incredible power of sports, especially the importance of making sure there is equity in opportunity and experience for womens sports.
