The sitter called out 2.5 hours shy of race gun time; this lingering cold wouldn’t ease; the weekend was busy with the kids, and I hadn’t trained more than 10 miles in a month. It wasn’t easy getting to the start line, and I am so happy I did. Friends, trust in the preparation, and a gorgeous sunrise made this race FUN! I hauled it at the end to set a new personal record, which felt wonderful!! Lesson to self—pushing through isn’t relegated to the hobby itself. It’s also the grit to reject (albeit legit) excuses and protect your time to fill your cup. It's worth it. (Bonus: my growing collection of the best facial expressions 😂) #getahobby
