The coordinates of snow lead to Ruka. And regardless of the season, snow is always found on the slopes of Saarua, as more than 100,000 cubic meters of snow is stored there every spring. And why do we do this? Because our goal is the early start of the winter season and more efficient use of energy. It is much more energy efficient to make snow during the coldest days of winter and store the snow over the summer compared to making the snow during autumn's higher outdoor temperatures. We are constantly improving the process of storing snow, and every year we have larger masses of snow available to open the slopes. This will ensure an early start to the ski season as early as the beginning of October - the opening target for next season is 7th of October, 2022. #coordinatesofsnow
