This will be our third Saturday action to defend Roe v. Wade! We would like to invite you to join the Reproductive Rights Group of MI in supporting events defending reproductive rights! This is an all-hands-on-deck moment to protect Roe v. Wade, the right to abortion, bodily autonomy, and the separation of church and state. Prepare a statement, or speak from the heart. We also encourage you to wear green bandanas or clothing in solidarity with reproductive rights movements across the globe. We will meet at the Theodore Levin Courthouse. -12:30: Meet-up if you would like to volunteer to lead chants and do other organizational tasks - 1:00: Rally - 1:45: March - approx. 3:00: Open mic Join our mailing list here: https://forms.gle/YFtGDZ1QG2hhf7Xh7 -------------------------------------------- Where we stand: - We do not work with the police. Due to the racist and violent history between the police and marginalized demographics, we cannot depend on them to support us. - We are not aligned with a political party or facet of contemporary electoral politics. - We will uplift the voices of the oppressed over others, centering around BIPOC and queer experiences as best we can. We believe in: - Defending Roe v. Wade - it is essential for the continued fight for reproductive rights - Free, safe, & legal abortion - it should be available on demand, with no apology - Healthcare - it is a human right that should be decommodified - Independence from the Democratic and Republican parties - Intersectionality - this is all one fight. - Our power in the streets - we aim to build a mass movement that actively defends reproductive rights, and fights for the equality of women, non-binary and trans folk.
