@voguegreece is out today - don’t miss it #thebigblueissue Deep blue sea I think that I first watched Le Grand Bleu when I was 15 and I promised myself that I would learn to scuba dive and visit the island of Amorgos right then and there. I successfully managed to achieve the first a few years later, in Halkidiki. I explored the seabed and was captivated by its peace and colours. While I was in the water, I felt free, there was a kind of calmness that I had never before experienced and a sense of fulfillment. The sea is magic like that, it can offer you such thrills. A few years later, I met Jean-Marc Barr, the star of the legendary film, when he visited Thessaloniki for the screening of Lefteris Haritos’ documentary film A Dolphin Man, and I am thrilled that the man who so successfully embodied the character of Jacques Mayol speaks exclusively in an issue dedicated to the colour that defined him: blue. Here, at Vogue Greece, we decided to celebrate the ultimate colour of Greek summer in each of our pages. An issue in blue, filled with beautiful images from the islands of Naxos, Mykonos and Hydra, as well as Amorgos, the island of my dreams, which I hope to manage to visit this year, to finally fulfill my wish to swim in the waters that Enzo and Jacques praised in the film.
