When I first came to FAMU in the fall of 2017 I spent my freshman year in SBI (Business Admin) because I subconsciously believed that I needed to be in a “real” major. It got to the point where my advisor suggested I change my major to somehting more closely aligned to my passion. I was hesitant because I was worried about losing credits and not graduating “on time” but Fall 2018 was my first semester as a graphic design major in @famusjgc82 . Fast forward 5 years later, I was able to come back to FAMU and be present with the mural I created for @xfinity as a part of their 2022 HBCU Tour. This is 1 of 11 other HBCU murals I created that’ll be on display on the respective campuses. I said all this to say that if you are an artist of any kind, that you can be an arts major and have a great career. There are plenty of lanes and opportunities to more than support yourself and have a great life from your art.
