So I decided to buy this very cheap and plastic $115 lens from Amazon. It’s a @vivitarofficial 500mm f8 lens which also brings a 2x converter (making it 1000mm 😳). A lens with something similar to this focal length from Canon, for example, would run about $20k!! I took it to South Beach to test out and I have to say it was quite fun to mess around with. It was a bit windy so it was a bit difficult to focus on my shot (did I mention it’s manual focus only?), but I would really love to take it somewhere and test it out with more time, daylight (at f8, things can get dark quick), and in a less windy situation. The images aren’t very sharp and the quality is pretty low but I kind of like the grainy look of these photos. What do you guys think of the results?
