Sossusvlei, Namibia…located in the southern part of the Namib Desert, where it’s home to the Big Daddy sand dune, the Sesrium canyon, and a hosts of jackals, springboks, oryx, and many more majestical creatures. We were even lucky to see a zebra, hyena, and ostrich out in the wild. This part of the trip felt restorative, even though my sleep was limited. It felt good to lay in the cool sand, connect with the earth, and gaze up to the full moon, which seemed close enough to grab. It’s hard to say what truly was my favorite part, there were so many moments— but seeing a painting by the bush people that is roughly 1000 years old, was pretty spectacular.
