I sat down with Jasmine Crockett and asked her how she plans to bring Latino voices and lived experiences into her campaign and her policy agenda.
Her answer was clear. She has done work for underrepresented communities and she knows Latinos are getting hit the hardest right now with the ICE raids. That is what is happening across Texas and across the country.
She did not avoid the truth. ICE has detained United States citizens. Federal court records and news reports show multiple cases where Latino citizens were held or arrested because of wrongful immigration assumptions. This is not speculation. It is documented. This is not an immigrant story. This is a rights story.
She also called out the political game that divided us. She said Trump made people believe the immigrant was the enemy and that is how our humanity got lost. The raids are not just an attack on undocumented people. They are a warning sign for everyone. If the government can take rights away from one group, it can take rights away from any group.
This is why representation matters.
If you want policy that protects families, respects culture, and understands fear at the border and beyond, we need leaders who lived it and are willing to confront it.
Jasmine Crockett is making that case in her own words.
Pay attention. Elections decide who keeps their rights and who loses them.
