Ok quick question, what does vulnerability mean to you? Before I used to think that being vulnerable meant being weak, it was cringey. Then I realized that being vulnerable meant having the confidence to: 🦋Speak up when people cross your boundaries. 🦋Be your authentic self in every space you enter, not just when you feel comfortable. 🦋Recognizing that your inner child deserves to be heard. 🦋And moving your body disruptively in the name of fun! If you didn’t know that’s what a recocha is... to cause a ruckus or be disruptive in the name of fun! When you allow yourself to embrace all parts of you it is disruptive AF! And being disruptive is scary, but doing so can also be fun. So when I tell the recocherxs in class “move your body however YOU want”, I mean it. I want you to feel so free that you try a new move and give it your all, like maybe you throw yourself on the MF floor and shake that ass unapolgetically. Because guess what if you do, you might metaphoraically do the same in those spaces where you don’t feel safe enough to.
