Thank you to MuchMusic and Sadé Powell for recently featuring my solo Project T-Dot photography exhibit at Toronto's City Hall, which is shielded from the rain and available to the public until Monday, September 5, 2022, outdoors, 24 hours per day, seven days per week, for free. Being featured through an iconic platform and brand that shaped my artistic sensibilities and much of my knowledge of the arts, entertainment, pop culture, and Canadiana since childhood is an honor. John Martin, Moses Znaimer, Michael Williams, Michele Geister, Tony "Master T" Young, Sook-Yin Lee, Nam Kiwanuka, Rick "The Temp" Campanelli, Monika Deole, George Lagogianes, George Stroumboulopoulos, Ed The Sock, and far too many other former MuchMusic team members than I can name here were significant positive influences on my formative years. They introduced me to my favorite musicians, music video directors, and countless other incredible artists. I and many others will not soon forget such pioneers or their creativity, charisma, and professionalism. They changed Canadian media and media on a global scale forever, and I am grateful for what they created through MuchMusic. As Project T-Dot is a documentary project on Toronto's hip-hop culture and history, such a project would be incomplete without featuring MuchMusic and those behind innovative shows like Rap City and Da Mix. Drake and October's Very Own's recent tribute to MuchMusic at Drake's house and through OVO's All Canadian North Stars showcase at History in Toronto for October World Weekend could not have been more timely. Canadian millennials like myself, Drake, and millions of others know how important MuchMusic was during the 90s and early 2000s. Through Project T-Dot, I plan on meticulously outlining MuchMusic's role in Toronto's hip-hop culture, community, and history, regardless of how long it takes, and ideally by no later than the end of 2024. #media #hiphop #canada #toronto #photography
