Happy to announce today launches a new crowdfunding campaign for the TATTOO MIKE doc film on IndieGoGo. The LINK IN BIO will take you straight to the page to check out some new video content. This push is to finish all the shooting and hire an editor for a rough cut. There is a full roll-out planned over the next 30 days showing part of the archival material that has been collected, interview clips made for the film, examples of the art work Michael made, and some new portraits of some of the best artists working in the city today showing where tattooing is now. Although a few images will float through on this feed, I'll encourage you to jump over to @tattoomikefilm where the full show will be. This February 1994 issue of International Tattoo Art [ITA] was during the era when tattoo legend Jonathan Shaw was driving the train as editor-in-chief of the magazine, and the interview Michael did with Jonathan is one of the best in-print interviews that exists. The time frame is 10 years in to Michael's face being tattooed and 7 seasons into his time at the Sideshow. It's an intimate discussion about what motivated Michael to have himself tattooed this way. Michael's face was tattooed initially by Cyclops Don Boyle, primarily Fineline Mike Bakaty and some work was also done by Mike McCabe and Mehai Bakaty. The back of Michael's head [not pictured here] was done by Donna Colelli. Photo: Peter Alan Monroe. Please visit the IndieGoGo page, pick a prize, make a contribution through the LINK IN BIO, and share this with as many people as possible. Thanks!
