I originally wanted to save this post for #HipHopCelebrationDay yesterday, but I was busy and I’m a believer in celebrating birthdays for a full week so I get a pass! 😅 I would be remiss if I didn’t take this occasion to thank @llcoolj for not only resurrecting #RockTheBellsFestival last weekend, but also reclaiming what was always his and doing it in such an astounding way! From @dipsetnewyork doing the damn thing, @therealnoreaga continuing to amaze me by balancing a journalism career and being a DOPE EMCEE, @lilkimthequeenbee and @remyma inspiring so many women in that crowd — trust me ladies, I peeped! — to @fatjoe and @lilcease letting them be at the forefront and simply supporting with ill rhymes, to @icecube making a hip-hop dream of mine come true of seeing him live...OH! And @jadakiss literally giving @stylesp and @sheeklouch their flowers live on stage by way of championship rings....OHHHH! And @BUSTARHYMES — Busta motherfuckin RHYMES! Him and @spliffstar_mrlewis did something so clever and dope when it came to censoring his lyrics that was just...mannnnn!
