As rainbow-colored flags begin to populate your Instagram feeds, much of the LGBTQ+ community continues to face a number of exclusions across society, especially in the world of American football. @carlnassib, the NFL’s only current openly gay player was recently cut by the @raiders in March for “financial reasons.” Similarly, @rkrelentless — the league’s only openly bi-sexual player has been a free agent for several seasons now. The discrimination the LGBTQ+ community experiences doesn’t start or end with the @nfl but transpires far earlier and on a much larger scale.
