As the election season is upon us, I feel the draw to share some thoughts. If we are talking about the power of what a political party or candidate can or cannot do more than we are talking about God or Jesus, we will always fall short of gaining what we want for our country’s future. The scheme of the enemy is to divide and conquer. It’s easier to attack a single individual than it is to destroy a large, untied force. Before you head to the polls to cast your ballot, I urge you to pray. Ask God to reveal to you what He wants YOU to hear. Ask God what he wants YOU to vote for or against. Ask God how He wants to use YOUR vote to make a difference for His kingdom. The answer to these questions will be different for everyone because God looks at our hearts and meets us where we are. If you are obedient to taking action based on what God asks you to do, then you will cast a vote that will matter in the eternal kingdom. Remember, God is in the business of the long term game, not the short term of 4 years. “Look around you and you will be distressed. Look within yourself and you will be depressed.
