I got lucky - - - This past weekend I got to go back to the one place that saved my life - 🌿 when I was a kid growing up was difficult and very different from a lot of the other kids in my life - I had a lot of challenges in my day to day - from having an unstable home - lack of education - a lack of family connection - not having many resources for emotional support - I felt very anxious and there was always something wrong with either me or my surroundings - it was a lot for me to hold as child - but no matter how bad it got - I always knew that every summer I would be returning back “home” to camp - “BBPC” Camp saved my life - I knew that not only was I returning to a place that was safe but I knew there were people there who truly cared for me - and no matter how messed up I was or what trouble I got into I had a “family” there that would support me and be there to listen - camp is truly one of the only places I ever truly felt safe and I am so beyond grateful I had the opportunity to experience such a loving and freeing moment in time - I got lucky - if I didn’t end up at camp - I don’t know if I would have found the balance and success in my life that I have found today - There is no way I can truly express my gratitude - camp lives with me daily and Being able to come back once a year for one short weekend to relive those memories just pulls on my heart strings - my heart belongs to Perlman - 🤍🌿 thank you for an amazing childhood xx @perlmancamp If you’ve made it this far .. make sure to check out the last photo - that’s where the gold is haha 😆🏕💖
