For the last sixteen years, documenting Toronto's hip-hop community, culture, and history has been an amazing and enlightening experience. I am grateful for everyone I have documented for Project T-Dot. Documenting a sub-culture as diverse and complex as Toronto's hip-hop community is no simple or easy task; Toronto is the fourth largest city in North America, and I have much ground to cover, both physically and figuratively. With support from several individuals and organizations, concentration, determination, grit, faith, and a commitment to completing what I begin, Project T-Dot will be the most comprehensive documentary project on Toronto hip-hop ever produced by 2024. I am also grateful for the many conversations about Project T-Dot, Toronto's hip-hop culture and history, art, documentaries, what it means to be Torontonian, and many other topics that my solo Project T-Dot photography exhibit at Toronto's City Hall has inspired since Tuesday, April 19, 2022. The exhibit, which is one of many, and ultimately a small part of Project T-Dot, is shielded from the rain, and is currently available until Monday, September 5, 2022, for free, outdoors, 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Soon, I will announce a live keynote conversation on Project T-Dot with my longtime friend and colleague Neil Donaldson, aka Logikal Ethix, as part of the upcoming 16th annual Manifesto Festival. Also, in part inspired by my current Project T-Dot exhibit, Project T-Dot as a whole, and many events like it in the past, I have collaborated with Manifesto Community Projects' Board Chair, my longtime friend and colleague and a true trailblazer within the context of Toronto hip-hop, Che Kothari, alongside Manifesto's Managing Director Tinesha Richards, and the City of Toronto, to bring a Toronto hip-hop community town hall meeting to Toronto's City Hall soon. I look forward to continuing the process of developing Project T-Dot, and facilitating conversations about it. And thank you to everyone that has supported my current exhibit at Toronto's City Hall and Project T-Dot as a whole. #art #hiphop #toronto #documentary #projecttdot
