@off____white Spring 2025 Brooklyn 2024 This particular fashion show that sparked the idea in my mind that we should start archiving fashion houses after the passing of their creators. I’m not sure if it was too soon after @virgilabloh’s passing or if it simply didn’t meet my expectations for the American debut of Off-White but this just want it. I anticipated a nod to the rise of the brand and its Tumblr, DIY A$AP Mob and the Soho influencers era. However, the “Duty Free” collection, with its Y2K mini skirts and Canal Street scammer inspired layering, just didn’t turn the page for a new chapter for me. Despite everyone’s excitement about the show’s open concept, surrounded by the clueless presence of pickleball players around the basketball court, I ultimately felt underwhelmed.
