20 years ago today, I went on my first date with a guy named Mike. Only at the time, I wasn’t quite sure it was a date. We met playing sand volleyball. My co-workers at my previous news station had a weekly team and a co-worker invited his friend Mike to play with us. As he and I talked, we discovered that we both played tennis. Mike asked if I might want to play sometime. Soon after, we found a time. We played tennis (still wasn’t sure if it was a date DATE) and then he asked if I wanted to get something to eat. He surprised me by making me an amazing dinner (he had me at steaks!) at his place. (Ok, I think this is a DATE!!! 😆) We talked all night. Game, set, MATCH.
