LOVELY MISERY - COLLECTION SS23 Break My Heart Dress This collection investigates the sense of miserable uncontrollable Love through handicraft, using hard and soft materials, together with references from The Dark Ages. When I researched The Middle Ages I found a feodal system with princesses and knights but there were no happy fairy tales. It was a misery with plague, witch hunt, starvation and even a small Ice Age. But my heart was broken and this miserable dark era fit me perfectly. This work has used historical garment refencers from the The Dark Ages (Middle Ages) in order to create and shape the gloom that Love interprets like a dependent poison. The romanticized picture of losing all the power and control (for better or worse) to Love. There is nothing that brings out the goodness and the worst in a person like Love. All the pieces are handmade in Sweden on a domestic knitting machine or by hand. Love/ Mikaela
