Find your why! My journey started about 7 years ago. At this time I was more or less going through the motions. I would go to the gym about 3 - 4 times a week and “workout”. Looking back now I was really just moving the weight from A to B without actually training. I was encouraged to do this by my internal medicine doctor (having had type 1 diabetes for 8 years at this point). Fast forward 3 years to when Amy started to really put in the effort at the gym and I was shocked. So I jumped in and started to actually train. My why at that time was “I want to have people see my results like I’m seeing hers.” After doing this for a couple a years my why changed. I have come to love the time I spend training and it’s no longer about “I want to see the results” and it’s now all about “I want to constantly improve myself”. Learning to prioritize my training time and change my lifestyle, I proved to myself I can accomplish very hard things. Last year I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. As soon as I got the green lights from the doctor, it was back to my sanctuary. Life is not a perfect straight path, but if you can take the time to build great habits and discipline, you will take the twists and bends much easier. Find your why, make it a priority for you, and watch what happens!
