*Come along with us for an eye test!* AD Myopia (or short sightedness) is on the rise in children, and it’s estimated that almost 50% of the world’s population will be myopic by 2050. Myopia is when you can see close objects clearly, but far away objects such as the TV screen or the whiteboard in school appear blurred. As a result, it can be a barrier to children’s ability to be their best and, because it’s irreversible, can continue to worsen if they don’t get help early on. It is important that you take your child for regular eye tests to help spot the signs of myopia early! The great news is that there are many new treatment options that are now available (beyond conventional glasses and lenses) that can help to slow down progression. Be sure to ask your optometrist about these at your next eye test appointment. To help, the Global Myopia Awareness Coalition (GMAC) have put together a handy guide of 6 key questions to you can ask your Optometrist. Visit myopiaawareness.org/uk to read and download this guide. So, be sure to book an eye test for your little one before they start the school term! Has yours had an eye test yet? #ScreenStaycationUK #MyopiaAwarenessUK #BackToSchoolEyesUK
