Last night, I turned my life long dream into reality as I was crowned Miss Illinois USA at 9:18pm (which, also happens to be my birthday 9/18... talk about divine intervention). I feel extremely blessed and grateful to be able to take this journey into the next chapter of my life. Standing alongside some of the most accomplished, determined and educated women in the state was an extraordinary experience. The opportunity to be a positive and exemplary role model, as well as uplift and inspire women all over the state is truly remarkable and unimaginable. After several years vying to capture the title, I now stand before you as the second Latina to win the Miss Illinois USA crown in over 70 years and the first Latina queen to represent the state in 25 years.
